whoa. coachella's gone goth.
bauhaus. nine inch nails. cocteau twins. prodigy. chemical brothers. new order. bright eyes. tegan and sara. weezer.
and i've got no in on vip passes this year. bummer.
I have never felt so poorly treated in my life. Not only have they screwed up each portion of their customer service process in relation to my order... well, I'm livid about how I was just treated as I attempted to cancel my order. Rude. Unable to provide any confirmation that my order was being cancelled. I felt like I was being mocked.
If you ever considered ordering a system from them, don't. What a nightmare. And it's all so futile. Nowhere to complain, no one to talk to. They won't give out last names or extensions or let you go any further up the phone chain then a supposed "supervisor" who basically told me it's all my fault they they couldn't get a computer to me in nearly two months.
Well, once I was excited. It's now been nearly 2 months and through a comedy of errors on their part, I still have no system. I've just cancelled by order and forced them to refund. I have no faith in them and their shite customer service, so I'm just going to go buy a comparable system that isn't as cool but is much cheaper and will at least allow me to have the system... well, immediately. Fuckers.
very nice. working through the bills, the comment spams, the emails... getting the computer shipped finally so i can have a nice fast system...
been in buffalo for a few days now... our trip ended with us leaving nashville after dinner with scott and all of that. can't remember if i typed that stuff up. anyway, did a straight drive from nashville to buffalo, stopping for dinner with mike in columbus.
so been here... a quick 3 day trip down to watkins glen to visit wendy's family... food and tv... and warm houses. sitting in john's apartment now where i'm loath to go outside because it's 2 degrees. studio and gym are just across the street but it's too much to contemplate right now. had nothing to eat but wings and pizza. happy but growing a thick winter layer apparently.
starting to lose track of time. can get used to this. in nashville... nice hotel. lesse... slept in, drove past the clinton library but didn't make it in... hit the road, gas and mcdonalds, memphis... a little lost but found graceland... outrageous prices, kind of sad and chintzy, mansion closed, tons of flowers as we just missed elvis birthday... nice plane.. strange but true, they sell fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches in the cafeteria, and they're really good... back on the road to get to nashville... hi to leann and dean and brad, dinner with scott... great little place, fantastic wine and a steak blue cheese salad... key lime pie bye bye diet... back to the hotel and to bed... tomorrow, marathon drive to buffalo.
from phoenix to tucson... detour to the titan missile base for a tour... super creepy, particularly the run through when john turned the key and pressed the button that would have started a launch sequence to end the world. straight through arizona and new mexico listening to the ipod... and then into texas... a very late dinner in el paso and the unwise decision to push on only to discover that there's really nothing for a long, long time. ended up crashing at some roach motel halfway between el paso and abilene. next morning, back to the texas crossing... interesting rest stops, the patriot gas station with guns hung over the pumps and a very cool owner who provides "full service"... car, body and soul. a little loony but in a good way. through fort worth and dallas with wendy snacking the whole way... crossed into arkansas and stopped for the night in little rock, where i'm sitting in the very swanky capital hotel getting ready to start our next day... today, the clinton library and then on to memphis for a music store, nashville to meet with some friends, and then...?
a late start, finishing in phoenix. big driving day tomorrow.
best street seen today - sore finger road, somewhere in arizona.
popeyes for dinner. 10 minutes later, out it came at a gas station. woot. lots of beef jerkey. parts of ca and az smell real bad.
thus it begins. reports from the road when feasible.
Thanks to Dave for the link...
Unfortunately, you can't appeal to the record label when they're still making money. You need to go to the source. Stop people with bad taste from breeding.
went to a special "farenheit 911" thing last night... some musical guests, readings of letters from servicemen and family members that have lost people, etc... alternatively touching and painful. at some point, we need to accept that the moron really did win the election. he may have stolen the first one, but not the second.
anyway, a good night out. got to meet tom morello (found out he's a closet trekkie) and mr moore, which was nice.
rainy as hell here today.. tons of errands and then it's time to trek across america.
survived the celebrations in pechanga, a place i hope never to visit again. had a good enough time... spent decent amount of time with all my friends that were there... drove down with john, hung out with rob and miyoko both nights, dinner with john and adrienne, hang out with mike and greg and paul and all the other assorted cast of characters.
back to work... got a few things to knock off before the cross country road trip. hope everyone had a safe one out there.
