Oakenfold @ the Mayan
Tuesday, June 18th, 2002It’s almost three and I’m tired and cranky. Just finished programming all the login and reg pages for the Oakenfold site, and that’s good enough for tonight. Content tomorrow. I’m contemplating staying up for the Korea Italy game, but the VCR is set and I’m too damn tired to think. I’ll watch it tomorrow while hitting the exercise bike.
The oakenfold show was great - he spun a great set, really good stuff. Wendy got some awesome pictures and she’s still up processing them, hence me whittling away on the blog. Still annoyed with the whole scenario… if you’re doing a DJ set, do it in a place with lots of room for dancing, something with a club atmosphere. I don’t get these rock venue DJ sets that are overpacked. Lighters out, he’s scratchin’! And I’m not even going to start on the standard LA scene. About 200 people in front of us that look much more like they should be on “the list” but aren’t, while we are and we can’t get in either. Oh well. We made it eventually, cheers to Jeremy for finding us and dragging us in. Or me, anyway. Wendy’s hair and stunning good looks can get her in anywhere. I’m going to start a support club for schlubby boyfriends stuck waiting outside.
Here’s a pic and the pass… yes, the pass says Universal. Yes, the show was at the Mayan. That should give you a good indication of the excellent organization involved.
