post soccer depression

The World Cup is over and I find myself wandering around aimlessly, still scanning the spanish-language stations for replays and waking up at 4am hoping for another game. I suppose I can start paying attention to MLS but, quite frankly, the level of play just isn’t there. I guess I’ll research whether we can get English Premier League or German Bundeslige games regularly on any of my 200+ channels of shite digital cable.

Or, I could get a fucking life and start doing something creative. Unfortunately, for me that involves more knob-twiddling and keyboard punching, and since I do that all day long for my real job, it’s incredibly difficult to convince myself to do it the other few hours of the day…

I think I’ll take a little break - I’ve got some serious work to get done over the next two days, and then I’ll go on a little 4th of July break (always the crappiest holiday for me - I haven’t had fun on the 4th since I was a little kid and blew up shit) and take stock of what I’m doing and what I want to be doing. A little digital soul searching. I’m open to suggestions…
