saved by the maid
I was about to do yoga and then my bike, but our maid showed up so now I get to sit on my ass until hermit lunch. Woo hoo! And we’ll have a clean house again, which is a nice bonus.
Going to see a screening of “24 Hour Party People” tonight. Really looking forward to it as the movie isn’t even going to get a US release. It’s about the whole Manchester music scene - Factory records, Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays, the Hacienda club, and all the dumb ass things they all did while taking ridiculous amounts of drugs. Should be fantastic. Understandable why most folks in the US wouldn’t give a shit, but I grew up listening to those bands…

A bunch of really ugly guys in anoraks writing pretty decent tunes while taking loads of drugs. One guy is really miserable and kills himself. The other ones discover disco and fuse indie with dance, thus creating all the wonderful music we listen to today. That’s pretty much the entire story.
