Was going to update the blog, but I’m actually really having a life, drinking, eating and having fun with my baby. Fuck it. you all can wait until tomorrow.
Nursing a slight headache today. Wendy’s art show was a blast… great food, good wine, huge turnout. Stumbled next door for a few aftershow drinks… not anywhere near as much fun as Finn McCool’s, but points for ease of transition.
Must go eat some greasy food to restore equillibrium.
Getting ready to head over to Wendy’s opening… it’s from 8 to 11pm at the Julia Dean Photo Workshops, 3111 Ocean Front Walk, Marina del Rey, CA. I don’t know if we’re going to be going to Finn McCool’s or stay local and just hit one of the bars there afterwards…
5 items on my desk at the moment:
1) Stack of CDs. Mostly audio but demo CDs for Cubase (thinking of switching over from Pro Tools / Logic) and Ableton’s Live (supposedly better than Acid for loop sequencing).
2) iPod. Charging.
3) Jesus candle. Soothing in a non-religious, ironic way.
4) Receipt from Computer Experts, who are busy making my music system sound less like a hoover. Supposedly. Must call.
5) Empty cup of coffee. Must refill.
Officially landed another music DVD gig today, so Wendy and I went on a bit of a shopping orgy, trying to find some inspiration and cool ideas… picked up Moby’s Play, Depeche Mode’s One Night in Paris, both of which look pretty cool… and we’re going to take another look at Nine Inch Nail’s All That Might Have Been and the penultimate music DVD of all time (so far), Underworld’s Everything Everything. If anyone has any recommendations, lay it on me.
Of course, we couldn’t resist a few other purchases… MASH’s 2nd season set is out, and the Fellowship of the Ring. Even though the Special Edition DVD comes out in November, I just had to have it right NOW. I’ll give this to my parents when the good one comes out.
So it’s off to watch the Fellowship of the Ring tonight, and I’d imagine I’ll be on my ass watching music DVD’s all day tomorrow. Ah, the things we do for work.
