Nonsensical title day. Went to the Alanis DVD premiere last night… pretty cool to see our… well, Wendy’s… work on a semi-big screen. It was at the silent theater on Fairfax. Been there before but didn’t know there was a little cafe / greeting area upstairs or a patio out back. Free booze. Yum. Hit Genghis Cohen after with a few various friends for yet another drink and a late dinner… met the live concert footage director, really nice guy. What else? Oh, always wonderful to see your name scroll by, even if they did spell it wrong. Twice. sigh.
Tonight we’re off to see the Goos at the HOB… been having a lot of fun hanging out with that crew, and I always dig the foundation room experience. looking forward to it.
on to more mundane things - having a real problem getting wendy’s d100 to ship. Experiencing the same problems Jason did, but with a different company. Why is it so fucking difficult for these places? You place your order, you pay extra for next-day shipping, they put the shit in a box on they send it out, right? End of story. Instead, I have to place multiple phone calls and emails for nearly a week before they promise to finally ship my order, but don’t offer any discount or explanation. Bastards. I’m starting to think the small percentage saved by ordering online isn’t worth it and I’m just going to go back to shopping at stores. This is how the dream of the internet dies - shoddy management and customer service.
Gearing up for Wendy’s art show this Saturday… it’s also her birthday, so the fucking camera better be here by then
… also looking forward to seeing Nemesis next weekend, even though everyone seems to be split on it. Will it suck or not? Koga says not, Dave says it’s going to blow. Doesn’t matter either way because the midnight showing of Two Towers the following week will more than make up for any amount of Star Trek crappiness.
Following that, it’s off to upstate New York to visit Wendy’s family, then a quick dip into the frozen wasteland of Chicago to visit Jason for New Year’s…
Somewhere in there, I need to sort out a whole new business plan since the entertainment industry is starting to crash and burn and we’ll be collateral damages shortly if I don’t.
On a final note, I’m going to start pestering wendy for pictures from the various things we do so I can put a few on my blog as well… so far she’s been hoarding them all.
