a long and not terribly exciting weekend. friday we went to downtown la to catch a band that a friend of ours is managing… decent enough show, free booze and food at an art gallery… then dropped by a recording studio where another friend of ours is doing his first producing gig, so a quick tour and listen then off to his house for boozing until 3:30 or so in the morning. didn’t i say i was going to quit doing that?

saturday was a wonderfully lazy day where wendy and I chose not to do a damn thing, and stayed in bed until well past 2 and ordered in pizza, etc. fantastic, really needed to do that. eventually i got my ass out of bed and headed down to the recording studio to hang out and watch production take place. always good to emerse yourself in the environments you’d like to be in when you get the chance… watch and learn.

came back late, walked down to blockbuster which is thankfully open until 1am on weekends and rented “even cowgirls get the blues” which is admittedly shit, but it’s still based on a great book.

today, we headed down to the parents for a late lunch, and are still basically attempting to avoid the ever-growing pile of work we have. Probably dive into it a bit tonight since there’s no new 6 feet under.

that’s all folks…

Today sucks.

Just a generally crappy day all around.

Rule of thumb, potential self-owned company types. The less money a client pays you, the bigger pain in the ass they will be. It’s the inverse law of assholes.

a loaf of bread, a jug of wine…

Well, actually, no. Not that kind of night. Tonight, it’s microwave popcorn, a box of milk duds, a grape soda and Children of Dune on VHS so we can watch it from bed.

Kick ass.

Dear lord…

for no particular reason, i woke up feeling a little antsy today… stomach not settling… just attributed it to some bad chicken last night. now the “chatter level” is up and we’ve gone from purple to mango or whatever, so that fits with my current mood.
