ich bin ein auslander

2:51am. doesn’t seem to be much point going to sleep now since we need to be at the airport at 5. printing out my rochester airport to hotel in buffalo directions courtesy of yahoo maps… everything’s packed up, including a fine dvd selection courtesy of wendy. got the audio splitter jack so wendy and i can both listen to the spankin’ bad ass g4 rock the dvd movies for however long the battery lasts.

coffee pot starts brewing in an hour and 15. i really could have used sleep tonight. i never sleep on planes. oh well. this is a good way to ensure i start my vacation with “relaxation”. of course, the vacation part doesn’t really start until monday. i’m supposed to be performing this weekend.

doesn’t have quite the same ring. anyways, it’s now 12:40… work appears to be squared away, although Wendy is still frittering away in her room. and we just bought a lovely g4 powerbook and burned a bunch of work-related cds to make sure we can stay on top of things while travelling…

just got back from finn mccool’s where we said a (hopefully temporary) goodbye to two dear friends of ours, anita and sanjay-josse-bob or whatever else i decide to call him for the night. off to portland, or, they are, and we will not sip another mighty lemon drop together again until we go visit them.

mighty lemon drops? whatever happened to them. damn fine tunes.

anyway, cheers to them, culiner, simon and bird, all of whom put in heroic drinking hours tonight. luckily for most of them, they don’t have a 7am flight.

so, it’s off to pack up… clothes, work related items (computer, cds, etc), music related items (dj and first ever live gig), and whatever else we decide we can’t be without.

good rule of thumb - if i think i’m not going to have a good time doing something, i usually end up having a blast.

adrienne’s hippy themed birthday part… wow. fun night. watching wendy run around being a poly-drug user, crazy food, crazy outfits, lots and lots of randomly colored drinks, treacherous stairs, completely losing it at one point and wondering why my feet seemed so far away, and far too many afro wigs.
