pit stop
Where the hell was I… uhm, yeah. So it’s another week, work keeps dripping in, not in a “waahh hooo! we’ve got tons of money” way but more in a maddening “well… there’s more work and at least we can pay some bills off” sort of way. Spending a hell of a lot of admin time on these new gigs… going to have to bump up the estimates since I seem to be doing the middle man job for the middle man.
Had dinner with Rob and Miyoko tonight at Akbar… damn fine indian food, and a great Zin to go with it. Everyone stuck with items with no meat, weird names and lowly 1s and 2s on the heat scale (actually on the menu… fantastic)… while I leapt in and had the lamb vindaloo (4 on the scale) and Rob and I split the chicken wing appetizer, which had the highest 5. And it was HOT.
Heading up to his place tomorrow to listen to a rough edit of the track that’s going on the soundtrack, and to grab some tracks for the bands he’s producing so I can give them a bit of my bleepy bleep action. Also finding out what sort of legal crap I need to take care of (signing up with ascap, etc) to make this paying musician deal real.
That’s inbetween all the crappy day job stuff, of course….
