It’s not a tumor

Oh well… Arriana is apparently dropping out of the race. Not much of a surprise there; since when has an intelligent candidate ever had a chance? She didn’t do herself any favors in the debate, granted… but still. Read her books and weep at the chance that we have now lost.

Looks like Schwarzenneger is unstoppable now. Sad, sad, sad. Bustamonte’s campaign has fallen completely apart… if I voted with my heart now, it’d had to be for Camejo, so I can join the other 2% of the voters and cast into the wind… might as well vote for the porn star, at least that’d be amusing.

I guess the only hope now is 51% of us wacky californians will vote NO on the damn recall. Gray blows but most of what everybody is angry about wasn’t his damn fault. You wanna point the finger at someone for the energy crisis and the resulting financial chaos? Then recall Cheney and Bush.

even though no one’s looking at them.

Bday parties and more, woohoo

Went to the farmer’s market as per usual on Sunday with Skeely and Wendy… tried the “other” sausage stand instead of my usual and discovered that they’re much better. Now I feel like a dumbass for eating at the other one the past year.

After the market, Wendy and I chilled out a bit before heading out to Robby’s for his birthday party. A great time as expected… good food, a lot (and I mean a lot) of booze, all the usual suspects, and of course, a ton of drama. This was bound to happen since the party started at 3 and there was no way you could have that many people sit around for 8+ hours drinking without some wackiness taking place. And so it did.

Finally left around midnight or so, dropping off a casualty or two along the way as driving was no longer an option for them, then got home and spent the next three hours on the phone with various parties reliving events, laughing and/or attempting to defuse situations. All in all, a total blast and a successful party!

Monday rolled around and we unfortunately had a 10am meeting with a surprise new client… that all went well, although as per usual it’s a last minute job; we’ve roughly got a week to pull together a multimedia presentation and website based on materials that are being produced as I type. Oh well. Gotta take the work when it comes.

In addition to that project, we have a ton of expected work to get done this week, and we already have plans set for almost every night this week. Tonight we’re staying in to get as much work done as possible since this is one of the only free ones; tomorrow, we have the often put off but finally scheduled dinner with another new client, followed by catching Greg’s band at the Troubadour; Wednesday, Interpol at the Palladium; Thursday is technically free but I have a sneaking suspicion I’ve forgotten something important that should be happening that night, and Friday is another late dinner with a client.

Slow weekend…

Stayed in last night since wendy was feeling a bit under the weather… looks like we’re staying in tonight too. That’s ok, the week was pretty crazy, and we’ve got Rob’s b-day bash tomorrow and that’ll be a long one so I’m not feeling too bad about being a bit of a hermit these past few days…

Still managed to get into Hollywood yet once again today, though… swung by John’s new studio to check it out.. wendy will be gracing the walls and various other areas with artwork, and i’ll probably be spending more than my fair share of time there in the future as well. groovy little setup.

off to toys ‘r us to grab a few last minute additions to rob’s birthday package, and then that’ll probably be it for the night.

well, i’m old

Missed out on the Prieboy thing and the assumed post-show run to Perversion with Jason and his crew tonight… I mean, I guess I could get dolled up and still go out but I’m already a bottle of wine in and tired, so fuck it. Hope they have fun. Maybe I’ll make it out and relive the youth at some point but can’t really be bothered right now. Rather hang out with the J-man somewhere more mellow.

Anyways, went out to Hollywood and had dinner with Dehais, girl, John, girl and of course Wendy. Nice evening, had a blast… supposed to meet the new client again tonight but he ended up going to radiohead and doing the rock star thing, fair enough. i would have bailed on it too had I scored tickets but alas, another radioheadless year.

i think early bed now, as there’s a bike ride calling my name early tomorrow morning. gotta head back into hollywood for a noon meeting and want to get the work out and some work socked away before that.
