Mine should be somewhere over the atlantic. yes, wendy comes back later on today… and i’m pleased as punch.

had another fantastic class tonight, did a straight forward recording session, learned all the basics and some cool tips and tricks. afterwords, headed out to johnny’s for a few drinks… we were supposed to meet at the cat and fiddle but he apparently got impatient waiting for me and started at home and was no longer able to navigate towards said destination. ended up hanging out until… well, what time is it now? 3:40? about 20 minutes ago.

well, it made my day.

Spent most of last night finishing up the rewiring, only to discover i’m missing some cabling that’ll clean up my audio stream a bit… so planning on making a run to West LA music at some point today. Got a call bright and early from Wendy in London and wasn’t able to go back to sleep so I’ve already done a brisk bike ride and am totally wired.

Setting up PT sessions for all the final tracks for the album… going in, matching beats, finding percussive and ambient samples to add into the mix.. now I need to get a ton of plug ins to add a little depth.

Another class tonight, and hopefully will be meeting up with Culiner for a nightcap.

Another fantastic class tonight - did post production, learned tons of cool stuff and i’m really interested in all the aspects - particularly music editor and supervisor. always wanted to do that… and this dude is way connected, too. one of his previous students went on to become the music supervisor for the sopranos, and won a grammy for it - and he got the job because of my instructor. cool. hopefully something similar might happen for me

I’m a little bummed as I’m doing all these classes, because it makes me wish I would have went straight into that aspect of the industry after college instead of doing the internet thing. But then again, I really dig my life right now and I wouldn’t be where I am and with the people that I am now had I done that, so never mind.

Anyway, just got home and the cats left me a wonderful present, which I will now share with you. Too late to do laundry tonight, so I’m just going to have to clean it up best as I can and sleep without the blanket tonight.

another work week has begun. wendy comes back in just two short days, hurrah… and i’ve got class all week again, which i’m also excited about.

Went out to Delmonico’s with John last night for dinner… fantastic as always. Headed back to his house for a nightcap (and to give wendy a wake up call in Paris so she could catch her flight to London)… she should be there now, so say hello to Karl for me if you read this.

Anyway, came back home and EJ and Marie were hanging out next door so I popped in there for a bit, and let them peruse the DVD collection for the night’s viewing… then I decided to attempt a grocery store run. Been avoiding it because of the strikes, but I also need a few things pretty badly and there’s a convenience issue… so I figured if I wait until late at night, how bad could it be? Hopped in the car and (not literally) ran into Culiner on abbot kinney. Haven’t seen him for almost a month… he had just finished dinner at Hal’s with a friend and was heading home. Anyway, by the time I got to the store, it was closed - no 24 hour service scabs, apparently. So back to square one. Going to try to get everything I need at Sav On today instead…
