it’s just the facts of life. having fun socially, but work is going down the tubes. say goodbye, record labels, this is the year of reckoning. unfortunately, most of my financial stability was tied to them. sigh.

anyone need a website?

on other notes, not that i’m terribly connected to the blogging community or anything, but even in my little circle of friends… is it just me, or has everyone given up on this stuff? i think the holiday blues are hitting everyone big time.

what a bizarre night. went to amoeba and blew a ton of cash on some new (and old) albums, dropped by the studio, and ended up the evening keeping finn’s open well past the legal limit knocking back drinks with jerry harrison. now that doesn’t happen every day.

Did the Trilogy tuesday yesterday… we were there from 1:30 until about 2am. A little over 12 hours. Amazing movies, but I’m never doing that again. Had a blast, though… a bunch of airplane mini-booze bottles, some cokes, a dash to baja fresh in the first break and the arclight bar for the second…

Return of the King was a masterpiece. Enjoyed picking it apart in the car on the way home, but really… one of the only movies in recent years that has had huge expectations and met them all. Simply amazing. I really want to go see it again, in about a week, without having already watched 8+ hours of movies beforehand. I was a little weary at that point.

The horseracing birthday party went well - everyone showed up (admittedly, some 5 minutes before the last race) … some people won, most of us didn’t, we got a great picture, and much fun was had. Damn cold though, which kind of ended the party early… wendy actually wasn’t feeling all that great, so we had dinner alone, and then went to finns and hung out with skeely and simon a bit.

lunch with rob and miyoko today… last time we’ll see them until new years as they’re off home for the holidays. got the second to last rough mix of the last conservative album from him and i’m happy to note most of my stuff made the cut, so i’ll expect all 2 of you out there that read this to purchase it when it comes out… gotta work on the next band now and get those to rob before the holidays hit big time.

tomorrow’s the super geek out - all day, lord of the rings marathon at the arclight. woot!

Damn good fun last night. Went into hollywood to pick andy up from the studio, and ended up hanging out there for a bit… then off to the party, food and drink and friends everywhere. got a haircut from the hostess herself, sat and chatted with mike mills for a bit, and watched andy stalk pete yorn. woot.
