bad blogger

Just can’t be bothered, really. I don’t have the time to blog often enough to make a compelling politico blog, which seems to be all the rage… i’m too involved with the music industry to really sit here and comment on all that’s going on there, suffice to say that everyone - really, everyone - is losing out. I’d be the last person on earth to defend the record labels, and change is certainly needed, but at the moment thanks to the way things are structured, artists are the ones really getting creamed.

at any rate, had an interesting past few days - good hanging out with friends, we were extras on a video with a bunch of other friends, which was both exciting and interesting and new and yet excruciatingly boring…. and really just getting ready for the financial and professional bitch slapping that’s about to occur to us because we’ve put most of our eggs in the music industry basket and that’s going bye bye.

    Hey Brian,
Well you have no choice now but to hang in there with the music aspect of your life. Trends are like roller coasters. Right now it’s the down time, but I agree, artists are getting screwed. FYI..I’ve been reading your blogs for a long time; they’re intelligent and full of fun! HOW I ever got to them, I don’t know, but I’m a huge fan of the Goos….got the DVD from Music as Art. Is that how???? Anyway, you’re following your dream and I hope you can keep a positive attitude. Good luck!

Hey Brian, I enjoy reading your blog. Don’t be so down on yourself. The music business is really in a bad place. Lots of good artists getting ripped off and lots of good people out of work with no where to go. Yet the fat cats at the top keep landing on their feet with their 50 million dollar contracts. I’ve been thru the professional and financial bitch slapping of the record biz and it’s no picnic. Close to a year later and I still can’t get on my feet. I think by week’s end the biz is about to get even uglier as Bronfman takes on the WMG. More artists losing their contracts and more people out of work with no where to go. Your “Bad Blogger” post just really hit a nerve with me and I had to comment. Thanks for listening.
