tired, and playing catch up with work. i’ll write about the weekend later. successful, and had a great time.
I’m getting on a plane in 10 hours, so i need to be at the airport in roughly 8 hours. About 3 hours ago, I scrapped everything I had done musically for my performance on saturday. ha ha. wee! fun! but thankfully i’ve hit a real groove - i scrapped it all because i started down a path i really liked. now i’ve knocked out about 9 minutes worth of great shit, for a 15 minute set. well, 20-25 minute set but robby’s supposed to have 5-10 minutes worth of stuff to meld in. so all i’m doing is 15. fire up the expresso machine, i’m rockin’ like dokken till the morning light…
got about 11 minutes of music done…. 4-10 more to go, but really just exploring on the same theme. should be able to wrap it up tonight just in time to pack everything up and catch a plane tomorrow morning.
just had the airport card put in the laptop… sitting in the apple store using their airport connection to make an entry, watching some crazy british guy rocking out on a strat while giving a garageband demo. pretty funny world we’re living in. well, time to go and complete the errand list….
a big week for amungus… first off, wendy took pity on us and let us use one of her photos for our temp site and gave it a nice design job, which is now live… www.amungus.com..
this weekend, we’ll be DJ’ing the entire Music Is Art Festival, as well as playing live, and we provided the soundtrack for all the performance art sets throughout the weekend… and four of the bands we did production on are playing as well (Last Conservative, Klear, Juliet Dagger, Terry Sullivan), so if you’re going to be in the Buffalo NY area come and check it out. I think we’re playing Saturday, not sure…
Gotta write some music since all of our old stuff (re: everything we’ve got) is being used for the performance art bits… so I’ve got 3 or 4 days to write a compelling 15-20 minute set. fun.
Anyway, went and saw Harry Potter with Wendy for the midnight show thursday night… good movie, actually…. best of the three so far. nice and dark. friday, dinner with friends and a relaxing night watching wendy making rice krispie treats… saturday, another dinner but more booze… now it’s all just scrambling around as we picked up massive amounts of work, and we’ve got the festival and about three or four other travelling commitments coming up quick. sigh.
