The Ultimate Wireless Music System

Alright, Geeks and Geekettes… need a little help here. Finally bit the bullet and I’m in the process of ripping my entire CD collection to iTunes and boxing them up. So obviously, I’ll be picking up an airport and finally getting our house running wireless, and I’ll also be picking up an airport express or two to get access to the wonderful airtunes feature…

So, controlling iTunes via the laptop throughout the house is no problem. Sorted. The question is, what speakers do I use? I want to have speakers up in the living room, back in the bedroom, and in the dining room - where I already have an amp so I can jack into that at least in that room.

I’d rather just have powered speakers in both the living room and bedroom rather than getting an amp… so I’ve been looking online for some snazzy looking, decent powered speakers and haven’t really found anything amazing yet. In a perfect world, they’d also have volume control, and even better, via remote.. I can live without that, of course, and just control volume via the laptop and itunes, but it’s always nice to have the option…

thoughts? opinions? who’s done this already?

Not too much of a rush here - I’ve been working on the cds on and off for a week and i’m only on black rebel motorcycle club, it’s going to be awhile…

can’t wait to hear what the geeks and geekettes have to say on this one. i am also trying to go wireless, at home and in the office, but i’m so intimated by the choices (and not wanted to screw up) that i continue to just carry my inMotion with me from room to room…which looks stupid…wish i had waited for the iM3.

These things kick all kinds of ass. They have 4.1 and 2.1 versions as well.

Sorry about my jacked up attempt at a link. Go to amazon and do a search for Z-680.
