yay rain (fuck yeah!)

Wednesday, October 20th, 2004

I love the rain. I want to put on the Cure’s Disintegration, brew a nice hot cup of earl grey and curl up in a corner and read russian novelists.

Unfortunately, that’s not to be. Continued to work my ass off most of the day, hit the gym (can’t do the bike ride with the rain going on), and then headed over to ej’s to hang with skeely, ej, marie, wen and jason to watch the boston red sox pull off another amazing, heartbreaking, painful, anxiety ridden win. I don’t even give a shit about baseball, but with ej and skeely being die hard red sox fans, this has been infectious. Can’t wait to watch the final game with them tomorrow, light up the bbq, and hit the beers.

tonight, jason was there to help me sort through some hardcore server shit through the stolen wi-fi… hopefully the server is in better shape now. he sorted out some crap that had me perplexed for the past few days.. cheers for that. he don’t give a crap about baseball either, but apparently he’s coming back for game 7 tomorrow as well.

beyond that.. just work, work, work. no amazing halloween plans, which, if you know us, is really sad. this is OUR holiday. oh well. we’ll see what happens.

the cd burning update - just started the t’s. current count? 14,523 songs, 47 days, 2 hours, 10 minutes and 29 seconds of music, 87.51 gigs.

Oh, and one more note. if you’re an aspiring musician, thinking about your album…

when you’ve recorded it, and you’re doing your tracklisting and sorting out your standard 12-14 songs….. well, please, PLEASE don’t be fucking cute, and put 55 to 57 one second blank tracks so you can put your shitty, not good enough to make the album “hidden bonus track” on track 69.

I’m fucking tired of clicking off 55-57 tracks so i don’t have to import them. ALOT of other crap artists had the idea before you. Trust me, I know. So don’t do it.

america - fuck yeah!

saw team america tonight. it rocked most amazingly. i wish they would just do a yankovich/tenacious d and put out an album of spoof songs.

the site launch went well… waiting to see if it’s going to take off like we’re hoping. who knows. mostly work, work. tweaking, fixing and on to the next thing.

it’s 5am.

Sunday, October 17th, 2004

I have been working non-stop since about 9am this morning. Time to go to bed. Big site launch tomorrow night. Most of the way done. Tomorrow will be as crazy as today.

I drank a bottle of wine, but was never really drunk. I had half a pizza and chicken teriyaki with rice. I did not exercise. I chewed through about 30 pieces of nicotine gum. I typed a lot.

another debate.

I still think Kerry one, but once again, anytime Bush squeeks by with a c performance, it’s graded as an A simply because he didn’t fuck up. Oh well. Looks like the spin is it was a tie. Truly frightening. I particularly enjoy how he likes to be “presidential.” I’m in the oval office. I talk to foreign leaders. Like he should be getting points for that. It’s your fucking job. And why aren’t Kerry and Edwards smacking them down everytime Bush or Cheney talk about either of them not being there for a vote? Bush has taken more time off than any president EVER.

Whatever. Luke and Laurie graced me with a gift subscription to Salon, so I’ve been wallowing in more than my usual amount of leftist ranting the past few days. Thanks for that!

And finally, my favorite image of the campaign so far:

debate 2 and more

Tuesday, October 5th, 2004

the veep debate was boring. cheney continues to be ponderous, creepy and vaguely evil, but i don’t think edwards did much for the cause. a little too earnest, a little too stuck on the talking points, a little too much up kerry’s butt for my taste. but there you go. hopefully kerry will continue to slaughter bush in the next one. let’s face it; cheney’s all they’ve got. if they were smart they would have pushed for more vp debates and less presedential ones.

anyways, a much better day today but a huge project looms and i’m going to be pretty busy until next week. still burning away… just finished with new order. the new count: 317 artists, 1059 albums, 10,614 songs and 35 days, six hours, 53 minutes and 45 seconds worth of tunes.
