that sinking feeling all over again
Thursday, July 7th, 2005Been difficult to tear myself away from news all day. Thanks god xm radio carries a BBC station so I didn’t have to deal with the US news outlets, which would spend 2 minutes on what happened in London then 10 minutes talking about what could happen here.
Haven’t heard back from a friend who lives there, but I’m reasonably sure both he and family/friends are safe, as they lived pretty far away from the areas affected and don’t really travel at those times…
Forced myself to just work on music most of the day but still found compelling reasons to get up and listen to the radio every 30 minutes or so.
Particularly loved that indie 103.1 played a great block of fantastic british indie music when i headed over to the gym, culminating with radiohead’s “paranoid android”

back and burned out
Tuesday, July 5th, 2005Everything went much better than I could have hoped. Played three good sets, had a blast, hung out with friends, then headed down to wendy’s hometown and hung out with her family. flights there and back weren’t bad.
i’m just totally, utterly exhausted. we never really have relaxing trips, they’re always packed to the gills with stuff. so, i’m going to open up a bottle of upstate ny wine i brought home, put on a dvd and hopefully go to sleep. maybe by tomorrow i’ll be back to normal.
