Last night, finally got to go out and do something that wasn’t work related… saw another Eddie Izzard warm-up show at the Coronet Theater. Maybe 70 people, tops. My absolute favorite comedian in the world, and even though he’s still working out new material, he killed.

Got a heads up from Jason that there’s a new Chris Moore book out, so I’m thrilled about that as well. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend!

Went and did a serious blast from the past thing tonight and saw the Sisters of Mercy at the House of anything but Blues… the fact that eldritch hasn’t released any music in well over 10 years apparently doesn’t stop him from touring. I fucking love the band, but come on… anyway, it kind of blew. The sound was crap, which really killed the show… and i got a bit annoyed waiting over an hour between the opener’s end and his triumphant on stage appearance. There were technical reasons - but not anything to do with sound! The fucking fog machine wouldn’t start. Hah! Rock and roll!

All hail Xenu!

Comedy Central pulled a re-run of the Tom Cruise “out of the closet” episode of South Park, which explains - in all seriousness - the beliefs underlying Scientology… reportedly because Cruise called and threatened to pull any and all publicity for his upcoming MI:III movie from any and all Viacom stations.

Trey and Matt’s lawyers have released a press release… too good to be true. I love these guys:

“FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

So, Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for earth has just begun! Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail! Hail Xenu!!!
