If you’re in a band, and you do all the music and write the songs and all of that, don’t have a really hot chick as your lead singer.

Because within three or four years after your first hit, you will be billed as:

Which must infuriate those guys. Or better yet, the potentially upcoming, if she ever speaks to those guys again at all, tour:
Gwen Stefani
with No Doubt

time to get back to it. today is music day.

I am strangely excited by the prospect of seeing Nitzer Ebb tonight at the Avalon… what was once my favorite band to dance to has, in the 10+ years it’s been since I actively hung out in Hollywood clubs, become my favorite band to listen to in the gym, in a totally, yeah, so they may be ripped, sweaty and shirtless on stage, non gay way.

Should be interesting. Most likely I’ll have a beer or two, buy a shirt for nostalgia’s sake, and leave early. But all bets are off. With any luck, I’ll be thrashing around in the pit and get thrown out of the venue, like I did the last time I saw them live. In like 1991.
